The wintering in life of bees – one of the most important periods, depends efficiency of insects in the next season on its outcome. On apiaries to bees people help to transfer cold weather, and in the wild nature they should be preparing for long winter that they, by the way, do successfully.

1. Wild bees winter in the beehives, in the nature they create them in the most favorable places, for example, in hollows of trees. Preparation for cold weather at these insects is always identical – by winter they try to grow up as much as possible young posterity, to seal cracks propolis and it is obligatory to expel from a nest unnecessary more trutnev (men's individuals). Thanks to it they prepare strong family for a new season, provide themselves with enough heat and a forage. It is characteristic both of wild, and of pasechny bees.
2. To worry winter, these insects accumulate in the warmest place of a nest - on the lower cells of sot, free from honey. They form themselves a big ball which consists of a dense crust and more friable middle. The proximity to each other and constant movement of bees in this ball helps them to keep necessary warm temperature even during the most fierce cold weather.
3. An external part of a bee ball dense because consists of almost motionless bees who are densely pressed each other. And internal – more friable as bees can freely move there to eat honey and to generate heat. Temperature in a bee ball does not fall lower than 15 wasps, and to the end of a wintering it can reach also 30 OS. Insects are constantly interchanged the position in a ball to be cold and keep out hungry fellows of honey.
4. Bees are not afraid of hard and dry frosts, the main thing – that was enough forage. And the beehive which is wrapped up with snow for them is especially pleasant, snow perfectly keeps heat. But strong dampness in a beehive and drafts for bees can be pernicious, just as, however, and too dry air. All this can spoil honey, and bees will have nothing to eat. That is why experienced beekeepers establish a beehive far from drafts and at the same time provide in them good ventilation. And if move a beehive on a wintering in the room, surely control temperature condition and suitable humidity of air there.
