Eggs of water and overland snails have some differences. Also methods of a laying and reproduction of these Gastropoda are not identical. However the posterity of any kind of snails often is production of insects and fishes as these mollusks are not inclined to protect it.

1. Snails are overland and water. Despite so big difference of the habitat, many behavioural factors and type of reproduction at them identical. However the difference in appearance of eggs and posterity nevertheless is.

2. How do eggs of overland snails look? The sexual time of snails is located around the head and has a camber appearance. It is kopulyativny body in which both male, and female "genitals" are located. Therefore these Gastropoda are considered as hermaphrodites. However pairing nevertheless is necessary for them, it happens only to individuals of the look. Mollusks breed at all seasons of the year, but at many species of these Gastropoda the pairing happens only once.

3. Within 1-2 weeks the snail bears eggs then she begins to postpone them. For this purpose she digs out a small pole of 3-10 cm in depth. The amount of eggs strongly differs depending on type of a mollusk. For example, grape snails are capable to lay no more than 40 eggs, and akhatina – from 100 to 300. These Gastropoda do not guard the posterity therefore many insects like to regale on it.

4. Eggs of overland snails roundish, in a form remind chicken. To the touch they soft, but elastic as are covered with quite dense cover (shell). Color it white or yellowish, the size of eggs has 4/5 mm or a little bigger: 5/7 mm (at akhatin). For optimum development the germ needs temperature not lower than 22 wasps. The posterity appears from eggs during quite short term: from 17 hours to 1 day. At first lives little snails eat a shell or those eggs from which new life did not appear.

5. How do eggs of water snails look? Amateur aquarians can observe personally process of reproduction and a laying of the pets. Eggs of water snails are called caviar which mollusks can lay in any place of an aquarium. At different types of snails it can or be over water and need protection against drying, or to look in the form of clusters and to fasten to its walls or seaweed.

6. Usually eggs of aquarian snails remind dense slime of the roundish size, soft and elastic. In process of maturing of caviar it hardens, and its color changes from yellowish (color of baked milk) to green and brown shades. But representatives have Neritidae families of egg initially firm as have a cover in the form of the capsule in which about one hundred germs are located at once. Initially this "container" white and quite soft, but gradually its walls gain fortress, and color changes to yellowish-brown. Freshwater representatives of this population have a capsule size a little bigger, than at those who live in the seas and oceans.
