Aquarium fishes demand good leaving which integral part is the correct feeding. Ignorance of features of their contents quite often leads to emergence of unpleasant situations. In particular, use of an improper forage can even lead of small fishes to death.

1. Choose a various forage, do not use always the same food. It is recommended to alternate a dry feed to live: crank, trubochnik, water flea, etc. Do not forget that the food has to be not only varied, but also very qualitative therefore it is extremely undesirable to save on it. Remember that the live forage needs to be washed with cool water before giving to small fishes.
2. Correctly choose the forage size. If pieces are too big, fishes will not be able just to eat them, and use of too small forage will lead to starvation. Observe behavior of small fishes. If they are enough food, but do not swallow, and spit out, so pieces are too big. A live forage, in particular, of a crank and enkhitreyu, it is recommended to cut small, and it is desirable to learn the optimum size for a dry feed upon purchase.
3. Define suitable quantity of a forage. When you notice that fishes ceased to be enough greedy food, stop feeding. If in an aquarium there is a forage which small fishes did not eat, move away him from water by means of a net and next time reduce a portion. So, having spent some time for observations, you will be able to define optimum quantity of food for your small fishes.
4. Give to small fishes of sterns often and gradually. They should not overeat. If you feed occasionally to them huge portions, it will negatively affect their health. It is especially important to feed often whitebaits, otherwise they can die. The size of pieces of a forage has to be approximately equal to the size of an eye of a whitebait, otherwise the small fish will not be able to swallow food.
5. Arrange once a week hungry day, without giving to small fishes at all is. Consider only that such hunger strike will be useful to adult fishes, but not whitebaits. If you for any of several reasons are not able to feed small fishes within 1-2 days, do not give them food better in general, but do not fill up in an aquarium a daily portion at once.
