The normal molt at snakes is complex process. Cages of an intermediate zone of epidermis at it are capable to form a new corneal layer which is called epidermal internal generation. Outer layers of living cells that are placed under a corneal layer, as a result of process are completely replaced. This process is biological, as a result the reptile completely dumps an old integument and forms new.

1. Long prepares for process of change of skin of a dragon. She becomes aggressive and uneasy, changes behavior, ceases to eat. Some snakes become lazy and sluggish, others nervous. Especially in the period of a molt venomous snakes are dangerous. Externally training of a snake for a molt is shown as follows: old skin grows dull and turns pale, the drawing becomes less accurate, at eyes the shade changes, becomes muddy-blue.
2. At snakes the first molt passes at once after the birth or in one or two weeks after little snakes hatch from egg. It depends generally on a look. Most often young snakes change skin – sometimes snake scales are updated every four weeks. The snake becomes more senior, and process is carried out more and more seldom. On average, the adult snake dumps skin 2-4 times a year. How frequent will be updates, depends on many factors among which: age of a snake, puberty stage, existence of parasites and bacteria, food. Also the humidity of air and temperature influence.
3. The normal molt is carried out in several stages. The stage of proliferation is characterized by dim opaque skin. Afterwards there comes the molt divergence phase. There is a formation of internal epidermal generation, the cavity with a lymph exudate in it is formed. Proliferation is replaced by differentiation of cages which will make a new corneal layer with education in an intermediate zone of the thin crack which is placed between three layers of old cages and three new. When internal epidermal generation of cages is created, the cavity – a stratification zone is formed. Turbidity of eyes at snakes happens during this period.
4. Stratification – the following phase at which skin brightens and from normal a little in what differs. At dissolution, intermediate substance disappears and there is an adhesion of proteins, and actually the molt begins after that. Skin of a snake is dumped, creeping out of it.
