However, skakunchik often it is possible to see also in the cities where ordinary representatives of a type of Salticus scenicus bask in the sun, having hidden on a stone and brick surface. At all spiders-skakunchikov eight eyes which are located in three ranks. By means of the largest and mobile four eyes from the first row the skakunchik not only learn a form of objects, but also get an idea of various flowers. In the second row which is located in a middle part of the head there are two smallest peepholes. The third row which is practically at border of the head and a breast is formed by two quite large eyes. Skakunchiki, unlike spiders of other families, are also capable to clamber on glass and similar to surfaces thanks to extremely small hairs and claws on their pads.
Features of hunting at the jumping spiders
Usually skakunchik are inclined to conduct active hunting in the afternoon, choosing as objects of food of various insects. There is an opinion that skakunchik (known also as the jumping spiders) are obliged by the name to the way of hunting. Jumping on the victims, they should count very precisely the jump length as the result depends on it. At these spiders the internal hydraulic system is very developed thanks to what they have a unique opportunity to change the size of the extremities owing to differences of blood pressure. This property is actively used by them during hunting - pursuing production, they make jumps, reducing muscles of the body. As a result liquid pressure level in comparison with a body increases in their extremities, and legs begin to move to move quickly. As a result skakunchik are capable to make jumps on distances which considerably exceed the sizes of their own body thanks to what the family and received the name of skakunchik. It is interesting that, preparing for commission of a jump, spiders are insured, attaching a thread of own web to "starting point". Very useful during hunting is also a coloring of spiders - some of skakunchik are painted the same as ants, bugs and lozhnoskorpiona. Therefore they can approach the victims closer, pretending to be quite harmless insects.
