Therefore from time to time they should emerge to a land surface to fill up oxygen reserves. And during the stay on a surface they very often try to come for contact with people, trying to draw their attention and to play with them. Move them curiosity and playfulness – the qualities of these surprising mammals first of all noted by zoologists in oceanariums.
Researches showed that dolphins give to games almost everything time, free from rest and meal. This line arises at small delfinit at the age of 2-3 weeks when they try to join in a game with adult individuals or fishes floating by. Such behavior, according to scientists, is caused by the imitative activity which is strongly developed in the first weeks and months. The grown-up dolphins at the age of several months prefer to play already with peers, forming for this purpose groups on several individuals. And often in such groups there can be "ringleaders" leading others – just as at people. Alone dolphins play seldom and a little, practically always preferring to look for the partner.
In September of this year the ministry of the environment of India recognized dolphins as full-fledged persons and forbade any attempts of restriction of freedom of these cetacea, having actually left dolphinariums beyond the law.
At dolphins, as well as at mammals on the land, so-called "comic fights" are widespread: young individuals can chase one after another, bite, clamp slightly to a wall, without transferring at the same time everything to the plane of real fights. No wonder, considering that dolphins are predators.
