Positive sides of keeping of fish parrot
The small fish parrot – very beautiful animal, not for nothing she became so popular among aquarians. Individuals of different flowers meet: red, yellow, violet, white, orange, green. Some parrots combine several flowers. Also the appearance of fish is unusual. Her mouth reminds a beak of a parrot. Thanks to this similarity the fish also received the name. Pets with such unusual appearance for certain will draw attention of guests and to the owner will not bother to admire them.
Fishes parrots are peaceful. They easily get on with individuals of other types, and you should not buy one more aquarium or to partition off already existing. Parrots will perfectly coexist with somika, barbusa, tsikhlida, labeo, neon, ternetion.
Fishes parrots have good health, they seldom are ill and if such misfortune nevertheless happens, it becomes at once noticeable by them – on bright scales there are dark stains, and the owner can render timely treatment. Life term at these fishes also rather big. At good leaving they are capable to live up to ten years. Over time fishes parrots learn to recognize the owner. When the owner approaches an aquarium, they begin to swim actively at a front wall, drawing to themselves attention.
Minuses of keeping of fish parrot
Fish parrot should create special conditions. In the nature they are rather mobile therefore also the aquarium is required to them spacious that they could frolic in the pleasure. It is recommended to establish a pomp which will imitate an easy current of water in an aquarium, ancestors of present aquarium fishes lived in reservoirs with flowing water. The qualitative system of aeration, pH, close to neutral, and heating of water to 22-26 degrees is necessary for fish parrot. Fish parrot has a mouth beak which not only draws attention, but can become also a source of problems. He is not capable to open widely, and the small fish is not able to take large pieces of food. Sometimes, that parrots perished for hunger even at careful owners who did not consider this feature. It is impossible to receive posterity from some species of fishes parrots. For example, the red parrot received when crossing several types tsikhlid is sterile. Though at temperature rise of water in an aquarium at these parrots mating dance begins, they do not bring posterity.
