The sweet temper of chinchillas and simplicity of contents allow a fluffy small animal to live in house conditions. To provide the growing demand for small animals, it is possible to be engaged in their cultivation. For chinchillas it is necessary to create not only normal conditions for life, but also to follow the rules necessary for their reproduction.
Instruction
1. Pick up future parents. For a start decide what color of cubs you want to receive. In house conditions main types of colors are crossed: standard, velvet, white, beige, ebon and violet. It is possible to receive more than 200 various color combinations from them. For receiving good posterity select mature animals with the best indicators, and the male can be any age, and the female is necessary only young.
2. Take a seven-months female and a nine-month male for reproduction – such ratio will become optimum for creation of couple. The sexual activity is most of all shown in January - February though it does not stop also from November to May. Determine hunting time by behavior of small animals. The female becomes uneasy and refuses a forage, scattering it on a cage. And the male during such periods with snorting actively looks after her. Genitals of chinchillas change a habitual look: at a female - swell up a little, and at a male – the penis is considerably excreted.
3. Equip a spare cage for pairing. At first place in it a male, and then place to him a very young female. If it does not like the partner, she will be nervous that is noticeable at once. It happens so, as the male is irritated by the bride, and small animals are aggressive-minded to each other. Track their behavior and immediately transplant if there was no sympathy. Try to repeat acquaintance after a while and if nothing changes in their relations – select other couple for cultivation.
4. Find pairing traces. If at acquaintance the male of a chinchilla begins to look after the girlfriend, your selection was true, and it is possible to hope for more active relations. Pairing happens at night therefore find in the morning among a laying waxy zhgutik 2.5 - 3 cm long is a vaginal stopper. Besides there will be scraps of wool and a disorder on a laying. Track behavior of animals: if they do not copulate within a month, then there occurred pregnancy. But the most right indicator is swelling of nipples, rounding of a stomach and increase in weight of a female. During pregnancy (105 - 115 days) you feed a chinchilla with a various qualitative forage.
