The few owners pay enough attention to inventing of a suitable name for the parrot, and the name can define the future of your pet and even to change style of his behavior.

1. You can choose a nickname for a parrot according to his breed and also the country from where he is. Unlike dogs, parrots well respond to the nicknames beginning with vowels. Whatever name you chose for the pet, do it sincerely and with soul – it the name will accompany your new friend throughout all his life.

2. Do not call a parrot by the names of the friends and relatives and also people with which you live. Quicker to accustom a parrot to a new name, you say a nickname during feeding of the pet and also every day on some minutes "train" a bird, saying her name and encouraging when the bird reacts to it. Always welcome the parrot by name when you come into the room in which he lives.

3. As the majority of parrots are capable to speak, choose a name which he is capable to utter for the pet. For example, if you have a budgerigar, choose for him a nickname with the letters "e", "i" and also the hissing sounds.

4. Avoid sonorny (m, n, k) sounds in a nickname – hardly the bird will be able to utter them. Try to make a name short and easily said. If to put imagination to inventing of a name, you will achieve originality and originality in spite of the fact that you will be limited in the creativity by a certain set of sounds and length of a name.

5. Training a parrot to speak, have patience – perhaps, its nickname will not be the first word which he will learn to say independently.
