1. Having decided to get skalyariya, pay attention to aquarium volume. For these fishes the aquarium which is containing not less than 100 liters of water and having height, at least, 45 cm will be ideal.
2. Choose small gravel or dark sand as soil. If desired decorate an aquarium snags and various stones. Thanks to it, skalyariya will have places for shelters.
3. Arrange plants so that the highest and bushy of them were near a back wall of an aquarium. Leave the spacious place in a front part that small fishes could swim there freely.
4. That skalyariya did not catch a cold, maintain water temperature at the level of 24-27 degrees, and its pH – 6.5-7.5. Install the filter, for constant supply of water with oxygen and its clarification from the smallest particles of dirt. For maintenance of purity in an aquarium of times a week replace up to 20% of water.
5. Provide to fishes bright artificial lighting.
6. Skalyariya treat gregarious fishes. Therefore get several individuals men's and female at once. Do not frighten the pets by sharp knock or suddenly switched on light. It can bring to loss of coloring by them.
7. If necessary to settle to skalyariya of "neighbours", stop the choice on peaceful small fishes of the average size. Since for smaller inhabitants of an aquarium of a skalyariya can begin hunting, but at the same time will act as production of large aggressive fishes.
8. Give preference to a live forage. You watch its quantity since skalyariya have tendency to overeating.
