Any living being is not insured from diseases. Hamsters not an exception. In case of need to help the pet, it is necessary to know, at least, to what diseases these small animals are subject.

1. If behind a cheek at a hamster something got stuck or the animal wounded this area, trying to thrust some sharp object, there can be an inflammation of zashchechny bags. Do not try to exempt from it a hamster and do not wait that everything will pass and will resolve. Inflammation will only amplify, and consequences can be the most sad. Therefore at the first suspicion on inflammation see the veterinarian.
2. A wet bottom of a stomach at an animal – a disturbing symptom. But, perhaps, it is just a diarrhea. Exclude juicy forages from a food allowance. Give stale bread, a little boiled rice, oat flakes. Make a camomile. Gradually pour in broth by means of the pipette in a mouth of an animal.
3. "The wet tail" is not a simple diarrhea which is easy for curing. At this disease the watery diarrhea is followed by loss of appetite, dehydration, rectal bleeding. The animal becomes irritable. The disease is very infectious. Literally in the first 1-3 days about 90% of sick animals die. Dehydration is a cause of death. Even at in time the begun intensive treatment of 50% of animals nevertheless perishes. At the first signs of the desease see the veterinarian. Correct and in time the begun treatment will help a hamster to survive. Usually the doctor appoints antibiotics. Some of them have contraindications therefore do not try to cure an animal.
4. Lymphocytic rather often meets at young hamsters horiomeningit. Symptoms of a disease are a little noticeable, but it can be transmitted to the person. The balanced diet helps to avoid a disease.
5. Hamsters are very susceptible to change of weather conditions. Sneezing, the festered eyes, noisy breath are symptoms of cold. Put a cage with a hamster closer to heat source. Air temperature has to be 23-25 degrees. Make a camomile. Moisten a roll piece in broth and try to feed it to the hamster. At the beginning it can help. However if improvement does not occur or rattles joined primary signs of the desease, then it is already similar to pneumonia. Ask for the help the veterinarian and rather, the better.
6. If your pet is inactive, and you noticed that he recovers - it is disturbing sign. Perhaps, it begins obesity, and it can lead to obstruction of vessels and even to cardiac arrest. Buy a running wheel, it is an effective method of prevention of obesity. In the evening, when the animal is most active, let out him from a cage to run about. Do not overfeed the pet. The adult hamster in day eats about 2 tablespoons of a forage. Adhere to this norm.
