To know a sex of a hamster sometimes happens not easy – little fluffy small animals are so similar at each other that even experienced experts sometimes "miss".
Instruction
1. To define a sex of a hamster, it is necessary to take carefully an animal in a hand, holding with a thumb the head and the top part of a trunk. Let the lower body freely hang down from a palm (it can be held accurately with fingers of other hand). It is also possible to take a small animal "by the scruff" that back pads became straight. But such way is quite unpleasant to hamsters therefore they can twitch and coil, complicating thereby sex determination.
2. Sexual distinctions at hamsters are well noticeable if to look at distance between anal and sexual openings. At the self-check it is much less, back pass and a vagina is located almost closely. Besides, at the self-check the thin skin in this zone is not covered with wool, and on a stomach it is possible to consider two rows of nipples.
3. At males the distance covered with fur between an anus and an urinogenital opening can reach one and a half centimeters. At males at the age of a month it is possible to consider the testicles which are located at the tail basis (except for dwarfish hamsters at whom testicles are almost not visible).
4. Besides, it is possible to know a sex of a hamster and on behavior: as a rule, males behave much more quietly the self-check (though this way is very inexact: at each small animal the character). And the Dzungarian hamsters can be distinguished and "by eye": both boys, and girls are very fluffy, wool at males is much longer.
