Animals Hits: 67

Need of full disinfection of an aquarium infrequently, but after all sometimes comes. And presence of obvious infectious diseases at your small fishes is not obligatory – the aquarium should be disinfected when settling of new residents there even if with previous everything is all right. In it there can be latent infections which do not touch healthy small fishes, but can become more active, for example, at a stress.

It is required to you

Instruction

1. The easiest way is processing aquarium hot water, ideally boiled water. In that case all microbes and microorganisms will die. Be careful: water temperature needs to be increased smoothly that glasses did not crack. But such way is suitable only for seamless aquariums and designs with solid glue – it is externally similar to ceramics. If glasses are put on soft silicone sealant, then from hot water it will become soft and the aquarium can begin to proceed, and glued capacity can collapse in general.

2. One more effective way - the strong disinfector. It is possible to process an aquarium powerful liquid cleaner or chlorine-containing solution. But after processing the aquarium needs to be washed out carefully as even small residues of the cleaning substance can ruin small fishes. Ideally the aquarium needs to be washed out carefully several times, then to fill with water, to allow to stand day and then to rinse again.

3. Also for disinfection of an aquarium it is possible to use hydrogen peroxide. She acts more weakly, than the previous options, but is safer. Certainly, the aquarium should be washed with water, but not so intensively.

4. For processing of an aquarium it is possible to use ordinary table salt. At first make gruel of salt and water and by means of a soft sponge process glasses and seams. Then fill an aquarium with water, add salt at the rate of 1 teaspoon on liter of water and leave for a couple of hours. Then drain water and carefully wash out an aquarium – salt is harmful to many species of fish, and – is deadly to some.

5. One more way of disinfection which can be applied even to aquarian plants without risk them to ruin – potassium permanganate. Make average-pink solution and rinse an aquarium, wiping with a soft sponge from within. Then wash up an aquarium water. Plants for disinfection need to be put for 10-15 minutes in potassium permanganate solution. Do not go too far in concentration – there is a risk to burn plants and to soil glasses a brown raid.

6. There is a medicine which it is possible to disinfect an aquarium even together with small fishes - a methylene blue. It has bactericidal and fungicide properties, but is almost harmless to living organisms. Medicine is produced in the form of drops, for disinfection it is necessary to part it in the ratio 2 ml on 10 liters of water. The only shortcoming – paints everything in blue color.

7. There is one more soft way of disinfection which does not harm plants and small fishes – an ultra-violet lamp. This option can be applied as independently, and in combination with above-mentioned. It is simple to apply a lamp: use it several days instead of the ordinary lamp.

8. When there is a need of disinfection of an aquarium, there is a question: what to do with soil. The most effective way is to boil. In that case all microbes perish with absolute probability.
