Sooner or later all parents face a problem: the child wants a pet. The cat or a dog not always approach. The lack of time on care for the pet or a lack of money on specialized forages can become the reason. Get houses a guinea pig. This very tender and friendly animal, your child will be able independently to look after him, and food is necessary the simplest.

- - a cage from the strong easily washing material;
- - wood shavings or sawdust;
- - steady feeding trough;
- - shelter for rest;
- - drinking bowl;
- - day nursery for hay from a wire.
Instruction
1. The guinea pig feels in the company much better. In the society of similar sea the pigs behave more interestingly. For one - two pigs the cage has to have the sizes not less than 90 x 40 x 38 cm. If animals three, it is worth increasing length of a cage by 15 cm.
2. Do not forget that a guinea pig – a rodent. Material of which the cage will be made has to be resistant to pogryza. It is the best of all if walls of a cage are made of the strong metal nickelized rods. It is possible to use plexiglas or other synthetic materials for production of a lodge. It has to have low legs.
3. The bottom of a cage has to be from easily washing material. Best of all from strong plastic. It is very convenient if in the dwelling of rodents there is a double punched bottom. It will facilitate care for animals, and the laying will be soiled less.
4. Strew a floor in a cage with wood shaving or sawdust of deciduous breeds of a tree. Pitch of coniferous trees is harmful to pigs. Do not put fragmentary newspapers in a cage, they contain typographical paint which can poison an animal.
5. Surely establish a lodge in which your pig will have a rest. It should have no bottom that it was easier for you to clean it. It is possible to suspend in a cage a hammock, a regiment stove bench or a pipe. It will be more interesting to you to watch an animal.
6. In a cage for guinea pigs it is possible to arrange the second floor. The main thing that overlapping was not made of mesh material. The mumps can stumble and injure paws. Lifting up has to be convenient for your favourite too: rather flat and steady. The guinea pig is not a decorative rat, she does not like to clamber on lattices.
7. Do not put in a cage a wheel for run. The mumps can easily injure a backbone. Let out an animal of times a day better to take a walk about the room. At this time the cage can be aired and cleaned.
8. The mumps will easily turn a usual drinking bowl. On a wet laying the animal can easily catch a cold. Therefore establish in a cage a vertical drinking bowl in the form of the turned bottle with the ball valve.
9. The feeding trough has to be rather heavy too. The best choice – quality ceramics. In some lodges sliding feeding troughs which can be cleaned easily outside are established.
10. Spread hay for rodents in a special day nursery which fastens to cage rods. In this case the grass will not be taken away on a cage and will not suffer from allocations of animals.
11. Establish a cage in heat, well lit place protected from drafts. Do not put it close to heating devices, bright lamps or the TV.
