1. Consider the size of your pet at acquisition of an aquaterrarium. For example, couple of turtles at whom length of an armor is 20-30 cm requires about 150-200 l of water. That turtles did not get out of the aquarium, it is necessary to take care of the cover which is well passing air. It has to fasten reliably to edges of an aquaterrarium that it could not be raised and shifted.
2. Equip land areas. Turtles need to spend some time on air therefore for one turtle the placement of two islands will be optimum. One of them it is necessary to arrange in well lit and warm place, another – in the shaded corner. Creating islands of sushi, consider what them has to be exactly so much that all attendees of a reptile could accommodate freely.
3. For warming up of water and land areas establish a special lamp. Usually it is fixed over one of islands. Temperature on the "warm" island should not exceed 28-32os, and on cold – 24-25os.
4. Pick up green plants for land areas. Mostly it is necessary for the little growing turtles. It is possible to start in an aquarium and small fishes who are also pleasant to them. For the maintenance of adult individuals the availability of soil is not required, and they either eat green plants, or damage.
5. Buy additional heaters for water if its temperature after installation of a heating lamp does not reach level 25-28oC. They can be found in pet-shops. At the same time have them so that your pet accidentally has not a bite an electric wire or did not crush them an armor.
6. Use external aquarian filters of any types to purify water. The more effective them work, the less often you should change liquid in an aquaterrarium. When replacing water surely defend it and do not forget that little turtles grow in clear water much quicker.
7. In the winter of a turtle, especially young, need sunlight. For this purpose get in pet-shop a special lamp for ultra-violet radiation of reptiles. Include it for 3-4 minutes 3 times a week in strictly determined time. It is very important for your pets since all reptiles very precisely feel time that helps them to support daily biorhythms.
