1. The main component in a food allowance of a budgerigar are dry grain mixes. They include oats, a millet, a ribbon grass, seeds of hemp and sunflower. By independent drawing up a zernosmesa it is necessary to consider that the millet percent from lump has to make 65%, oats of 20%, a canary seed of 10% and 5% of hemp and small sunflower seeds of a sunflower.

2. During the winter period and during nesting it is necessary to feed a budgerigar with the sprouted seed of wheat, oats.

3. A component in a diet of birds greens, fresh fruit and vegetables are necessary. It is the main source of vitamins. They need to be given daily in unlimited number.

4. Greens approach as garden (leaves of cabbage, garden radish, spinach, beet), and wild-growing (leaves of a dandelion, plantain, a sporysh). It is not necessary to feed birds with spicy herbs, for example parsley.

5. Fruit and vegetables give fresh and peeled. It is possible to feed with any fruit and vegetables, except mango, persimmon, a papaya, avocado, potatoes.

6. It is not necessary to feed a parrot with vegetables from the cooked soups and ragout. Also candied fruit and the having stones with high content of hydrocianic acid (cherries, plums, apricots) are unsuitable.

7. During the winter period, in the absence of fresh greens it is necessary to give to a budgerigar grass meal. For its preparation, collected in the spring and in the early summer of a grass (leaves of a dandelion, young nettle, buds of a red clover, a lucerne and other herbs), dry up in an oven and fray hands in flour. Store in the dry place in the closed container and add 5-7% of total amount to grain mixes.

8. Soft forages are useful to budgerigars: welded on water and without porridge salt from rice, a buckwheat, millet. The consistence of porridges has to be friable.

9. Forages of animal origin are necessary: boiled eggs, skim cheese, the boiled and crushed low-fat meat and fish. The bread soaked in milk or sweet tea needs to be given gradually and with care. Soft forages should be given once a day, in the mornings.

10. Daily it is necessary to give to a budgerigar mineral fertilizing: shell of eggs, small shell rock, river sand, chalk. Sepia (a bio-stone from seafood) which piece always has to be in a cage can act as that.

11. I go to a feeding trough it is necessary to pour in the small portions. Besides in a cage constantly there has to be a drinking bowl with fresh water.
