Budgerigars are so touching beings and lovely, however it is wrong to think that care for these birds is simple and artless. Parrots demand the serious relation and thorough selection of a food allowance - only it guarantees them for many years lives.

Instruction

1. In Australia, on the homeland, budgerigars eat seeds of herbs and cereals. To taste to them both young branches and buds of trees and bushes, some fruit and berries and even small insects. But the main forage for parrots – grain mix: millet of different grades, oats and canary seed.

2. It is possible to add seeds of a flax, sesame, seeds of meadow herbs, a hempy seed and seeds of sunflower to grain mix (only small seeds and only in the raw. Fried sunflower seeds can be deadly!).

3. Norm of food for an average parrot – two teaspoons a day. You should not indulge the pet additional mixes too often. Do not forget that a main course for a parrot – all this millet.

4. Prepare seeds of a plantain and a dandelion in the summer, for the future. It is worth storing them in linen sacks. Buying ready-made feeds, pay attention to packing. It is desirable that it was transparent polyethylene. The forage in a cardboard box can become wet when transporting that causes emergence of a dangerous mold.

5. Budgerigars willingly eat an additional forage: the eggs hard-boiled, cottage cheese and the white loaf soaked in milk. Baby birds accustom to eat the porridge made on water from broken rice with millet. Porridge has to be friable and not salty.

6. Fresh egg contains proteins, fats, calcium and vitamins - it is a fine nutritious forage. You cook egg no more than 7 minutes. Then small crumble it and mix with semolina or crackers. You should not give too much - 4-5 g of egg quite will be enough for a parrot.

7. In unlimited number it is possible to give a green forage – a source of vitamins and mineral substances. Offer a pet apples, leaves of lettuce, cabbage and dandelion leaves more often in the summer. From vegetables the budgerigars are allowed to eat pumpkin, a melon, squash, watermelons, tomatoes, cucumbers, beet, fresh green peas, spinach and sweet pepper. Vegetables have to be fresh and it is desirable from house beds as vegetables from the market may contain dangerous nitrates.

8. Offer females during bringing up of baby birds the sprouted seeds of oats, wheat, barley and a rye. Wash out seeds, fill in them with warm water and leave for the whole day. Approximately in a day they "will arise". Wash the bulked-up seeds with water that they did not dry.

9. In a cage of a bird surely there has to be a feeding trough with special sand for budgerigars. Sand participates in digestion processes, as a result food is easier split by enzymes.

10. Budgerigars willingly sharpen claws and beaks about fresh branches of trees and bushes. Branches need to be torn far from roads and industrial facilities. Previously they need to be presoaked at several o'clock in cold water, then to scald boiled water to destroy possible parasites. Remember that it is forbidden to give to parrots of a branch of coniferous trees.
