Some owners of Shar-Peis complain that their animal slowly and obviously suffers from excess weight, badly smells and looks not well-groomed. To get rid of similar problems, it is necessary just to adjust food – to feed a Shar-Pei correctly and fullly.
Instruction
1. You feed an animal twice a day. You feed puppies of a Shar-Pei before achievement of three-months age three times a day, then gradually you transfer the pet to two times food. Representatives of breed are inclined to problems with digestion (zavorot guts) which at plentiful food can be aggravated.
2. Do calculations of calories. Shar-Peis often have obesity therefore you correlate nutritiousness of a forage and level of activity of an animal.
3. Refuse forages with sweeteners. At an inactive way of life reduce the number of calories, consider option of feeding of a dog a forage for elderly animals with smaller protein content.
4. Choose the correct ware. It is better to throw out plastic and vinyl bowls. Get a ceramic or steel bowl – so you will bring risk of developing of a contact allergy to naught.
5. You do not feed a dog with "human" food. Thermally processed products from our table cause allergies in a Shar-Pei whose organism is not adapted for digestion of such food.
6. Mix a dry feed and canned food. It is possible to feed a Shar-Pei with canned food, but it is better to mix them with a dry feed, otherwise the dog can refuse habitual food. Do it seldom, do not give the chance to a Shar-Pei to refuse a dry feed.
7. You do not feed a dog violently. Some Shar-Peis can refuse food and eat once a day, and even in two. Do not force a dog to eat – so she regulates the weight.
8. "Deceive" a Shar-Pei with the increased appetite. Add to a forage nourishing, but low-calorie products – for example, pumpkin. Such additives will be useful and will allow a dog to be sated quicker.
9. Support an organism by vitamins. This rule concerns the elderly and weakened dogs who need additional vitaminization.
10. Think of transition to a crude and meat diet. If your pet nevertheless suffers from manifestations of an allergy, try to feed him with crude meat products (begin with stones).
