How to feed the Scottish lop-eared kitten

Before bringing a kitten home, think what diet you offer the little pet: "natural" feeding or ready forages. As a rule, at sale of kittens each manufacturer makes to new owners recommendations about feeding, but some owners for some reason prefer to make own diets for the pets. Therefore these owners of Scottish Folds have a question: how to feed the Scottish lop-eared kitten it is correct.

It is required to you

  • bowls for water and food, a forage.

Instruction

1. Provide to a kitten free access to food and water. Unlike dogs, cats eat often and small portions. Your little kitten can approach a cup with food till 20-30 once a day. If you decided to feed the Scottish kitten with natural food or tinned sterns, then at least 4 times a day change food in his pan for fresh as such food very quickly vanishes. And if you feed the kid with a dry feed, then it can be in a bowl constantly.

2. At natural feeding, daily give to your kitten meat. It can be beef meat. Before offering it to your pet, it is necessary to freeze meat 3-5 days and to give in the raw, or slightly to boil. To kittens up to 4 months feed meat in the form of forcemeat or small cut. Give fowl (chicken or turkey) only well boiled thoroughly, in order to avoid infection with salmonellosis. 3 times a week give to your pet an offal (both beef, and chicken) – a liver, heart, a lung, kidneys, a hem. Give an offal only in the exposed to frost look or boiled. Give a liver once a week and only in a boiled look.

3. Cats can only give fish sea, low-fat types. Before feeding fish to your Scot, boil her, exempt from all bones. Do not give to a kitten crude or freshwater fish. Do not abuse fish, give her 1-2 times a week. At constant eating of fish (especially in the raw), at cats the urolithic disease can develop.

4. Kittens can milk only up to three months. Further the organism of many animals ceases to acquire it. Before milking, boil it. And better replace milk with fermented milk products: kefir or sour cream of low fat content. Do not give to your kitten cream. Even at the lowest interest of fat content this product is harmful to a liver of an animal. Do not give also yogurts – as a rule, all of them contain sugar.

5. Several times a week give to your pet porridges from rice, oat flakes, wheat. You cook them on water or milk. If you cook on water, then add meat, broth from meat to these porridges and the boiled vegetables ground in puree. It is possible to add to porridges also an egg yolk. If eggs not house, then surely boil them. Grind 1 yolk in puree and add to porridge.

6. At natural feeding do not forget about vitamin supplements. Before use of any vitamins, consult with the veterinarian. Seeing the general condition of a kitten and knowing his food allowance, the veterinarian will help you to pick up the most optimum complex of vitamins for your pet. The grass will be good vitamin supplement. But do not give a grass from the street at all. Buy in pet-shop a special grass for cats and, following the instruction, couch it.

7. If you decided to feed your Scottish lop-eared kitten with ready-made feeds, then choose forages "Premium" or "A super premium" of a class. Never you feed your kid with cheap sterns – it can affect very badly his health as in such sterns not enough meat per se, but is a lot of an offal (up to a skin or feathers) and vitamins are insufficiently well balanced. When feeding by ready-made feeds, do not add to a kitten vitamins – them enough in sterns. Choose a forage corresponding to age of your cat.
