Health of a tiny doggie in many respects depends on the balanced food. It is especially important to pick up correctly a diet in case you preferred to feed the pet with food of a home cooking.

1. Aged up to two months you feed puppies 6 times a day. The next two months – 4-5 times a day, then reduce the number of feedings to 3 times. And from 10 months of toy terriers it is necessary to feed only twice a day. During the autumn and winter period add the mineral substances and vitamins made in the form of tablets or powders to a diet. Select the size of portions individually. You watch that after meal of a side of a dog did not stick out, but also did not remain hollow.
2. You feed a toy terrier only with fresh food cooked from quality products. In 15 minutes after feeding remove leftovers, so you accustom a dog to regular food. And also you watch that your pet always had an access to a bowl with fresh water.
3. Begin to enter a feeding up from three-week age. It is the best of all to begin with the porridges made from rice, oat-flakes or buckwheat. Further grain will have to make one third of a diet of a dog. Together with porridge it is possible to give low-fat cottage cheese. And also add to food crude eggs, but no more than two pieces a week.
4. In two weeks enter meat of low-fat grades into the pet's diet. Begin with absolutely small piece and gradually increase serving size. In a diet of a toy terrier meat has to make a half from the total amount of food. Sometimes it is possible to give such offal as heart and a liver. But only after long thermal treatment.
5. For replenishment of an organism of a toy terrier phosphorus, iodine and useful fatty acids, add sea fish, such as cod, hake or pollock to the menu. But do not arrange more than two fish days a week.
6. Gradually enter vegetables and fruit into a diet of a dog. Give a small amount of carrots the, grated on a small grater, filled with vegetable oil. Boil a cauliflower and squash. And also a small amount fresh tomato is admissible. From fruit the feeding is allowed by the crushed green apples of domestic grades.
