Their correct form is one of the main signs of breed and can provide to the pet prize-winning places at an exhibition. However ears of a fox terrier in itself cannot take the necessary form – the owner of a dog has to take care of it.

1. According to the standard, the fox terrier has to have small ears, highly located and close put to each other. The top line of a bend has to tower on 2 cm over forehead level. 2. Begin gluing of ears at three-months age until cartilaginous bones were created yet. If at a puppy the ears begin to stick out in different directions or he stuffs up them back aged when he was not 3 months old yet, it is possible to begin subbonding of ears before the put term.
3. Shave wool from the head of a pet between an ear and an eye (place of gluing) so that the level of wool was 3-4 mm. It will allow to avoid skin microinjuries.
4. Put an ear of a fox terrier in the form conforming to the standard. And then apply glue on ear inside, having greased only its tip and that edge which will nestle on a forehead. Specularly apply glue and on a forehead. After that symmetrically paste the second ear.
5. After 3-4 weeks accurately shear the grown wool and residues of glue in places of pasting. Apply a little alcohol on a Q-tip, carefully wring out and clean an ear from the collected sulfur. Then paste the pet's ears once again.
6. It is necessary to repeat this procedure every month until the dog is not 6-7 months old. At this particular time they finally form cartilages, and the shape of ears remains invariable for the rest of life. If ears at a fox terrier very heavy and big, prolong the procedure of subbonding up to 8 months.
7. You feed the pet with the special feed additives promoting strengthening of cartilages.
