Cultivation of snails becomes more and more popular. There is no wonder. Snails are quiet and unpretentious pets. Coloring and the size of snails can be various. You will be able easily to pick up such breed which will be pleasant to you. More than one and a half thousand live in their Russia. Of course, not all snails are intended for cultivation in house conditions. But there are several breeds which perfectly take root in any place and bring a large number of posterity. Akhatina - one of them.
It is required to you
- - aquarium;
- - earth;
- - sawdust;
- - tanks for food and water;
- - stones;
- - tree branch;
- - spray;
- - water;
- - the products containing calcium.
Instruction
1. Get an aquarium with a skintight cover. Make in it several small openings for access of fresh air. On each individual there have to be at least 30 square centimeters of free space. Buy the land and sawdust to cover an aquarium bottom. Check the earth for existence of garbage and various insects.
2. In an aquarium put 2 tanks - one for water, another for food. Check that their edges were not keen. Make shelters for snails. They can be got in pet-shops, or to make independently. Use for this purpose solid materials, for example, a stone or thick plastic. If you decided to decorate an aquarium, do not use flowers, paper, plasticine. Inside it is possible to put natural stones or a thick branch of a tree.
3. Surely bathe snails several times a week. For this purpose it is possible to use any flowing water. Get a spray and 2-3 times a day carefully sprinkle all aquarium. Enter calcium into a diet of snails. It can be armors of mollusks (it is possible to get in pet-shop), a shell of eggs, swept.
4. Daily you feed snails. Do not give them food from the table. Salt should not get to their diet, it can kill your pets. You feed them with fruit, vegetables, greens. Favourite delicacy of snails – rotten crude meat or fish. Take a small piece and leave for 2-3 days in the warm place. Then give it to snails. With care give a fresh cucumber and banana. These products very much are pleasant to snails. There were cases when snails got used to them and refused other food.
5. Time in 3-4 days change water in an aquarium of snails. Monthly also you carry out change of the earth and sawdust. Let out snails to creep out of an aquarium. Do not put them there from where they can fall. It threatens with damages of a sink. If you found on it chips, cover them with epoxy glue. Increase amount of calcium in a diet of snails. If in the next few days the sink is not restored, the individual can die.
6. Each snail – the hermaphrodite, that is the posterity is brought by all individuals. When there is a laying of eggs, cover it with something firm to exclude their damage. When there are little snails, for several weeks move them to other aquarium.
7. If saw on a snail of parasites or any formations, settle out this individual. In the nearest future carry it to the veterinarian, perhaps, treatment will be required.
