1. Do not take away British kitten from mother before 2-3 months from the moment of its birth. Be ready that the kitten will uneasily treat "housewarming". Most likely, when he will get to your house, will be slaughtered at several o'clock under a bed or into other place. Do not pull out it by force from there, and put nearby a tray and a bowl with food and water better.
2. The British cats very quickly gain weight therefore you watch a diet of the little pet. If you fed it from early age with ready-made feeds for kittens, then from 4 weeks begin to lure homemade food. This concept includes 10% the cream mixed with a boiled yolk, easy cottage cheese, small pieces of beef or light meat of chicken. Do not give to the pet crude pork, and it is better to replace milk with low-fat sour cream or fermented baked milk. In a drinking bowl always there has to be a clear water.
3. At kittens of this breed allocations in corners of eyes which need to be removed often accumulate. For this purpose buy Q-tips and special solution which is on sale in pet-shop. Instead of the last it is possible to use warm boiled water. Clean with the moistened stick corners of eyes, a nose and ears in process of pollution. For cleaning of ears use the cotton tampon greased with vaseline or liquid paraffin (1 cm is not deeper). Do not forget to show a kitten to the veterinarian for prevention of diseases.
4. The British cats treat short-haired therefore often it is not obligatory to bathe them. But it is necessary to accustom to bathing from early age. Wait several weeks until the kitten accustoms to the new house. Then gather to the bathroom of warm water (37 degrees) and slightly moisten a hair. If the kitten escapes, do not bathe him violently. From time to time moisten its wool, and later bath entirely. It is impossible to wet ears and eyes of a kitten at all. Remember that for people and cats there are different shampoos.
5. Comb out a kitten a metal brush 1-2 times a month. As much time cut to it claws. For this purpose buy special scissors – the nail clipper. Do not wait that the kitten will like such procedure therefore before to begin it, seat the kid on knees and calm him, stroking. Then take in a hand in turn each pad, slightly press a small pillow and shear no more than 2-3 mm of a claw. That the kitten did not sharpen claws about a new sofa, buy it a claw sharpener.
