The chinchilla is the small small animal belonging to a genus of rodents of family shinshillovy. Lives in Chile, Peru, Bolivia and the Andes. The unpretentiousness, fast accustoming to the owner and simple rules of contents do this lovely being to just ideal pets.

- - scrap of a pipe and rope;
- - sawdust or cat litter;
- - drinking bowl;
- - feeding trough;
- - river sand;
- - capacity for bathing;
- - stone for turning of teeth;
- - piece of wood of a fruit tree;
- - salt stone;
- - small aquarium or terrarium.
Instruction
1. Buy and equip a cage before buying a chinchilla. The limited space depresses an animal therefore the cage has to be such that the chinchilla could move and jump there freely. The minimum size of a cage for one animal 70х70х50 cm. The distance between rods should not exceed 1.5-2 cm.
2. Choose a cage with 2-3 shelves short flights of stairs and other devices for a zalezaniye and jumps. Hang up in a cage a hammock in the form of a scrap of a plastic pipe. Diameter of a pipe has to be not less than 15 cm. Arrange the place where the chinchilla can hide for the period of a dream. For a laying use pure sawdust or natural cat litter.
3. That the animal did not feel lonely, establish a cage at the level of eyes of the person, in the place where you most often spend the time. At each opportunity communicate with the favourite. Have no cage on a draft or under direct sunshine. Near it have no objects which the chinchilla can tighten inside, such as curtains, wires, etc.
4. For feeding of an animal in a cage put a special bowl. Attach it to rods that the chinchilla could not turn it. Establish a special drinking bowl around one from shelves, in the top part of a cage. You watch that in it there was always clear boiled water, change it daily.
5. Chinchillas herbivorous animals. Prepare for it the grain mix consisting of cereals, bean, sunflower seeds. Do not forget to add greens to a diet. It can be leaves of a dandelion, a burdock, a plantain, sorrel. During the winter period place a bunch of a dry grass in a cage. Constantly add vitamin complexes to nutritious mixes of an animal. It can be "Multitabs" or Vitasol.
6. In order that the animal could sharpen the teeth which grow throughout all life, put the special stone bought in shop or a piece of wood of a fruit tree in a cage. Change it as required. Except a sharpener for teeth, put a salt stone which is also on sale in pet-shop in a cage.
7. Chinchillas in the nature often clean the fur, bathing in dust. Establish the container with clean river sand which constantly supplement in a cage. If the cage size allows, put in it a small terrarium or an aquarium with sand and convenient access for an animal. There the chinchilla will be able to clean in plenty the fur, and you should not clean all cage after its bathing.
