The Persian cats gain the increasing popularity among fans of pets. Cats of this breed possess unique physical data and demand a special care for themselves. At the same time the responsible and loving owner cannot look after it.
Wool
One of the main features of the Persian cats is their long wool. The same feature is the most problem. Long wool quickly accumulates on the surface a large amount of various dirt, fleas, ticks, etc. It forces cats to clean it infinitely. Diet
The Persian cats are known for the low-mobility that in turn promotes a fast set of weight. To avoid this problem, it is possible to transfer a cat to a vegetarian diet, using special sterns. Cats by the nature are predatory animals therefore fast replacement of animal food by vegetable can negatively affect their health. Before changing its diet, surely consult with the veterinarian. As a rule, transition to a new diet is made gradually. The vegetarian forage is added by the small, but increasing each time doses until it completely does not replace animal food.
Bathing
As well as other representatives of the cat family, the Persian cats do not love water. However availability of long wool demands their weekly bathing, especially if they go outside. Hair of these cats is subject to pollution even if they do not leave the room. Toilet patches or dirt on a floor can become the reasons of hit of bacteria on wool, and subsequently and in an organism of a cat that in turn can lead to diseases. Kidneys
To a half of all Persian cats suffer polikistozy kidneys. Symptoms of this disease begin to be shown aged from the 3rd up to 10 years and include: depression, apathy, loss of weight, frequent urinations, etc. Regularly visit the veterinarian and check a cat regarding this disease. Today effective methods of treatment of this disease, unfortunately, do not exist. Practically all cats suffering polikistozy perish after a while. However, observance of the special diets appointed by the veterinarian can prolong their life. The earlier this disease will be diagnosed, the longer the cat will be able to live subsequently.
