Breast-bands for dogs are used for driving in a team or for walk in city conditions. With a breast-band the animal feels most comfortably, than just with a collar. It does not press a neck, allows to breathe normally, and it is better for owner to control a dog. The most terrible breeds of dogs walk on special breast-bands. Instruction
1. At first be defined from what material you will sew a breast-band. Leather, leatherette or nylon are the most suitable. Little dogs need to select very soft and gentle material for tailoring.
2. Measure your dog around a breast under pads. The pattern should be made with a stock on seams. If to make a breast-band very dense, then to an animal it will be uncomfortable. The weak breast-band will dangle, the dog will have scrapes. Therefore the size of a pattern needs to be done according to material. If it nylon, then do precisely by the size plus two centimeters on seams. If leather or leatherette, then leave an allowance from two to 5 mm for a breast-band and 2 cm for seams.
3. You will find a lining from soft fabric and stitch from the inside of a breast-band.
4. Having cut out a breast-band, sew a soft tape on all perimeter. From the outer side stitch straps. From a back – a ring for fastening. Straps can also be made with rings for adjustment of length if your dog still grows.
5. For small and decorative breeds of doggies the breast-band can be finished at your discretion. Most often finishing is made various bows, rhinestones, stickers for fabric, generally, at the request of the owner.
