Cats very much like to sharpen the claws. They do it on all apartment and therefore at owners of cats of the house all corners are usually peeled and wall-paper is damaged. But it is possible to resolve this issue and to make a convenient claw sharpener to which she will get used for the cat. Further the cat will sharpen claws only on a claw sharpener. It will be not especially difficult to accustom an animal to it.
It is required to you
- - a wattled rope (diameter is from 8 mm);
- - bar with a range of sizes from 80 to 100 mm;
- - plywood 10 mm;
- - all-purpose adhesive, for example PVA;
- - self-tapping screws;
- - oil paint;
- - tool kit.
Instruction
1. Cut the basis for a claw sharpener from plywood. It can be made any form – an oval, a circle or a rectangle. To this basis you will fix a column for turning of claws. For example, you will suit a circle with a radius of 350 mm.
2. Cut from plywood the second figure of any form for the top part of a product which will be used as a decorative cover. Do the top cover so that its area was twice less, than the area of the basis. Otherwise, the cat will easily overturn a design.
3. Now it is necessary to chamfer preparations and to process them an emery paper in order that the cat did not get a splinter into a paw. After that paint details oil paint and carefully dry up. You should not be afraid to use paint since the cat will not sharpen claws about these bases and therefore will not get poisoned. But the painted detail will serve longer and will become soiled less.
4. Further we need to prepare a column for the claw sharpener. Saw off a piece of bar, 700 mm long. You should not do bar too long that the cat did not push off it sideways. The bar is higher, the basis will be necessary more. Grind ready bar, but you do not apply paint.
5. Now take the prepared plywood blanks and attach them to bar from two parties that letter "T" from above and from below turned out. The plywood bases you fix self-tapping screws. For bar of 100 mm it is necessary to use not less than 5 self-tapping screws. At the same time, length of the self-tapping screw has to be not less than 50 mm.
6. As a result at you the coil turned out. It is necessary to reel up a rope on this coil. The first layer of a rope needs to be glued. Therefore, on each 10-15 rounds you apply on the surface of bar an adhesive layer from all directions. The rope should be reeled up under a tightness. Reel up thus the first layer.
7. Reel up the second layer in the same way, but it is not necessary to glue it any more. Tie the top part of a free rope in knot and record on the top basis a screw with a washer. The rope has to remain tense. Now the claw sharpener is ready!
