Recently became fashionable to have among pets not of cats or dogs, and exotic animals, in particular snakes. Sometimes the reasons of such choice are really in styles, but sometimes people to whom to liking observation of fascinating movements of these reptiles become owners of snakes.
Instruction
1. Before getting a snake in the apartment, take care of the equipment of the place of its future dwelling. The animal has to have the corner – the terrarium representing capacity from glass or plastic. On a bottom of a terrarium fill sand or special soil which can be got in pet-shop, plant plants, put stones, branches.
2. Do not forget that a snake – a cool animal, so temperature of her body is closely connected with environmental conditions. The most comfortable temperature for reptiles is 27-33 degrees. For prevention of diseases and maintenance of normal activity equip a terrarium with an ultra-violet lamp. Besides, allocate the space for a reservoir. Pay attention that for some species of snakes it is necessary to support a certain level of humidity. Place a heating source in a terrarium, it is one better from branches that the animal could settle down conveniently.
3. Constantly you watch hygiene of a terrarium, do not forget to change drinking water every day, and water in the tank for bathing – right after emergence of excrement in it. Periodically change soil, and disinfect stones and branches.
4. Remember that dragons are predators, so, it is necessary to feed them with live mice, rats, frogs, fish. Therefore before getting a snake think whether you will be able to provide a similar forage. Adult individuals can do without food a long time - up to several months. Snakes do not need food and during a molt. Therefore you feed the pet not more often than once a week. Do not forget to add to a snake to a forage vitamin and mineral additives or a pounded egg shell.
5. If you want to receive posterity, then get two heterosexual individuals. Some snakes are viviparous and bear cubs in a body, others lay eggs and warm them until the posterity hatches.
6. Do not forget that snakes can be ill. It is shown in change of their behavior and appearance. But you should not panic. Before a molt the animal can change too, becomes sluggish, skin grows dull, dries up. But already after a while you will be able to see the pet in a new skin.
