As well as at the person, many diseases at cats are followed by temperature increase of a body. To take temperature to an animal without the assistance of the veterinarian, at first sight, quite difficult. And to make it it seems to a little kitten which size exceeds thermometer length on only several centimeters at all an impracticable task.
Instruction
1. Measurement of body temperature at a little kitten requires the special veterinary thermometer. Though it is possible to use and usual, habitual for all, the "human" thermometer. It is better to give preference to the electronic thermometer. It takes temperature much quicker than mercury. And the less time will be spent for measurement, the kitten will be nervous less.
2. Take body temperature at kittens, as a rule, rektalno. It is unlikely the kid will quietly behave when try to enter a foreign subject into his back pass. Therefore ask somebody to help you with this hard business, it will be necessary to take an animal until you take measurement.
3. If the thermometer mercury - stir up it if electronic – dump its former value, having pressed a certain button. Well grease a thermometer tip before measurement of temperature with fat children's cream or vaseline.
4. Lay a kitten to yourself on knees or put him on a table if the kid is quiet. If the animal is nervous and escapes from hands, wrap it in a towel or a sheet, having left a back part of a trunk free.
5. Raise to a kitten a tail and it is very accurate, without hurting the kid, enter the thermometer into a rectal opening on depth of 1-1.5 cm. Do it smoothly, by means of rotary motions. Talk to a kitten throughout all procedure, you praise him, caress. Such actions will help it to calm down a little.
6. The mercury thermometer the kitten needs to take temperature for 5 minutes. Upon termination of measurement of temperature the electronic thermometer the special signal, as a rule, is distributed.
7. Having taken temperature to a kitten, carefully wash up the thermometer with soap and disinfect it by means of cologne or alcohol.
