Decorative rabbits are one of the most popular pets today. Unfortunately, these little fluffy small animals quite often differ in the increased fearfulness therefore to tame a rabbit – a difficult task. However, if you have an amount of time sufficient for this purpose and patience – you will cope with this task. The main rule to which it is necessary to adhere throughout all process of domestication – not to hurry.
- If you want to tame a rabbit, try not to force events: it is not necessary to take out against the will of an animal him from a cage or to squeeze. Also it is not necessary to be enough a rabbit and to violently hold him on hands – to these you will achieve only that the rabbit will begin you to be afraid and to perceive your behavior as real threat of the safety.
- Remember that after you for the first time brought home a cage with a rabbit, the animal has to look round and accustom on the new place. Give it time – the animal has to get acquainted with the new house. When the first fear is overcome, the rabbit will begin to behave quietly and naturally – will begin to wash, eat food, to lie quietly on days of a cage. It means that it is possible to start the second stage of acquaintance – to domestication of a rabbit to the owner.
- Try to approach a cage with a rabbit slowly and quietly, do not talk to an animal with voices raised. When you see that the rabbit is ready to further communication, try to offer it delicacy. Always let's a rabbit sniff at the hand before giving a forage.
- Communicating with an animal, you are with it at one level – for example, try to sit down on hunkers. If you stand, hanging over a rabbit, he can be frightened. Try to stroke a rabbit – but if you notice that he is afraid of your hands, and at once contracts in a lump, it is not necessary to show persistence. Leave a rabbit alone better and try to stroke him next time when it is in more complacent mood. Usually process of domestication of a rabbit lasts several weeks.
- In the course of domestication do not forget about what almost all rabbits do not love that they were pulled out from a cage – the animal simply regards it as attack.
