One of differences of the person from animals is our ability to talk. A number of scientists assumes that the only reason for which our pets cannot master our language - other structure of their oral device. However at a due training you can train the cat to tell the simplest human words.
Instruction
1. Begin to bring up the pet from infantile age. It is extremely difficult to train an adult cat while kids are still capable to reconstruct and accept your attempts to teach them to any given tricks. Training of the speech is not an exception. Besides, males give in to a training better, cats are more whimsical and independent, and their oral device is not so flexible and with great difficulty gives in to changes.
2. Listen to a natural language of the pet. Pay attention as he mews. Each cat in own way expresses the feelings, emotions and desires. Investing all richness of cat's language with one ""Meow"", you make a mistake as actually he is much richer and differs at each individual. Find in meowing of your pet of ""word"", reminding something from our speech.
3. Begin to work with the found dictionary units. Let's assume, the separate sound made by a kitten reminds you the word ""meat"". As soon as you hear it, repeat the word ""meat"" and you praise the kid. A reinforcement – an important stage of work. Play also the return game: you tell the word ""meat"". If the kitten responds the necessary sound – praise. On this step it is extremely important to show observation, sounds which are made by cats, are usually connected with a certain situation. Pronounces the word ""meat"" directly at that moment who emergence of the corresponding sound seems to the most probable. So you will increase the probability of fast fixing of a lesson.
4. Do not expand the number of words, you will not master one yet. Be consecutive and patient. Only having made sure that the first lesson is thoroughly fixed, start expansion of a lexicon. At the same time do not forget also about constant repetitions.
5. Be not too exacting. You do not teach a cat to tell the word ""meat"" as we got used to hear it. Remember how it is difficult to understand the person speaking with an accent. Your pet will pronounce ""words"" a little too differently. And here everything depends only on your spirit. If you believe that your cat is capable to pronounce the word ""meat"", then you will be able to hear it.
6. Be careful in demonstration of talents of the pet before guests. Make sure that they are the understanding people and do not wait from a cat of miracles. All animals are extremely vulnerable and do not transfer when laugh at them. If at the company there are sceptics who can just burst out laughing at demonstration of yours with it through joint efforts, then it is better to refrain from a public statement and ""to have a talk"" with a cat alone.
