Emergence in the apartment of a pet first of all is always followed by inventing of a name for the new pet. A name – important aspect in acquisition of an animal, and it is necessary to think out it, having carefully thought over all details as it will accompany you and your cat or a cat throughout all life, and partly the character of an animal and yours to it the relation will depend on a name. In pedigree clubs the animal are given nicknames according to names of parents and the name of nursery, but you can give to a cat the house informal name which is not corresponding to documents. Not purebred cat it is possible to call by any name which will be pleasant to you.

1. Calling an animal, be guided, first of all, by his floor, the assumed or available breed and also by character, a way of life and the place of residence. If the cat lives with you in rural areas, it will suit simple rural names (Vaska, the Cat, Murzik, etc.).
2. Also it is possible to reflect external features of a color and shape of an animal in a name of a cat (A saffron milk cap, Chernysh, and similar nicknames). For cats of east breeds – Siamese, Abyssinian, oriental or sphinxes – exotic and unusual names will approach. For a Persian cat it is possible to choose simpler nickname. For British and the English classical names.
3. Consider also a season in which the cat was born. If birth time – winter, give to an animal more tender and soft name. If time of the birth fell on the summer period, the nickname can be more rigid, but, nevertheless, pleasant for hearing and sonorous.
4. Do not do a nickname too difficult – it will complicate her storing, and the cat will not respond to such name. The memorable, bright and short nickname will be more preferable if you want the animal to learn it.
5. You can call a cat by a nickname which is significant for you, or is connected with heroes of your favourite books and movies and also the epos, mythology and traditional fairy tales.
