Since three-months age, the little kitten has to be able to look after himself: to put the hair in order, to clean pads and to straighten claws. Sometimes the kid can be soiled, be taken very strongly fleas or ticks, to be smeared by something. In such cases it is worth thinking of its bathing seriously. Many cats hate to adopt water procedures, nevertheless, they are an important part on care for pets. It is necessary to accustom a kitten to bathing from the earliest age, from the moment of its emergence in the house.
Instruction
1. In advance prepare shampoo. Take a thick terry towel as after bathing the kitten can begin to be scratched, and it will protect you from his ostrenky claws. Not to injure skin of a kitten, it is the best of all to wash him with special kittens shampoo. He not only will save the kid from dirt, but also will make his wool soft and silky.
2. Air temperature has to be indoors not lower + than 22 °C, the little kitten is very sensitive to overcooling and can easily catch a cold.
3. Take a small basin. Gather in it warm water so that its level reached a breast of a kitten. On a bottom of a basin put some rubberized laying or a towel. It is necessary in order that paws of the kid did not slide on a bottom during bathing.
4. Bathe a kitten not earlier than in three hours after acceptance of food. Bathing will not bring to an animal with a full stomach pleasure and can become the reason of problems with digestion.
5. On the eve of the water procedure cut to a kitten claws. Close to him ears cotton tampons in order to avoid hit of water in them.
6. Remember that process of bathing has to be friendly. Do not make sharp movements, let they will be soft and sure. You praise the kid during bathing, talk to him and call it by name.
7. Put a kitten in a basin with water, moisten wool, apply slightly shampoo on a back and on a stomach. Slightly soap it careful movements. Do not forget that shampoo has property strongly to foam. You do not put it too much as then it will be very difficult to wash away foam. Be accurate and watch that water did not get to the pet into eyes.
8. After that at once wash away shampoo, do it in several waters. For acceleration of process it is possible to use a shower hose with a weak pressure of water. Only do not frighten a kitten strong streams and noise of a shower.
9. Get a kitten from a basin and wrap up in a towel to remove excess of water. If after that you want to transfer the kid to other room, make sure that there warmly and there are no drafts.
