Leggorn is chicken of the Mediterranean origin and the raised yaytsenoskost. It was removed in the 19th century in Italy, received the name in honor of the Italian port of Livorno. It was crossed to fighting, Spanish, Japanese decorative breeds later and also to white Menorka. Today leggorna are widespread worldwide.

The oviparous breed of laying hens leggorn does not demand a special care. It can quietly live in the small hen house built on a personal plot. Quite often she can be met walking on the yard. But it is worth creating in the hen house suitable conditions for life of a bird after all. It will allow to increase amount of the taken-down eggs (in a year). Also leggorna not bad live in cages. They very quickly adapt to it conditions and please the owners with a large number of eggs.
