A story about Hachiko is so known and popular in Japan that children within many decades were told it as an example of devotion and fidelity for which it is necessary to strive. About this dog two films were also shot, one left in 1987, and the second – in 2009.

Hachiko's life to the tragedy

Hachiko is a dog of the Japanese breed of an Akita Inu. His name means "eighth" and, unlike "seventh" (Nana), symbolizes happiness. Hachiko was born in the prefecture the Akita on November 10, 1923. The person, on whose farm this puppy was born, in 1924 gave it to professor of agriculture teaching in the University of Tokyo – Weno Hidesaburo.Hachiko very quickly got used to the new owner. He saw him to the station Sibuya from where Weno left for work, and after the termination of the working day met at an entrance on the same station and went together with the owner home. The passengers who were daily taking one train with professor and also employees of the station and sellers got used to see always professor and his dog together. On May 21, 1925 professor Weno did not come back home. When he was at the university, it had a heart attack, and doctors did not manage to save it. That day Hachiko did not wait for the owner. He remained at the station till the evening then left to spend the night on a porch to the house of professor.

As Hachiko diedRelatives and friends of professor Weno tried to take away a dog to themselves to look after her, however Hachiko daily ran on the station and remained there, waiting for the owner. Passengers and employees of the Sibuya station soon learned about what happened to Weno. They understood that it is impossible to find other owner for Hachiko already and devotion of the dog who was daily spending much time on the habitual place in hope that professor will return soon was surprised. People fed Hachiko, brought him water, cared for him. In 1932 the journalists learned a sad story of a dog, and the story about Hachiko was published in newspapers. Two years later to the loyal friend of professor Weno the monument was erected, besides the dog was present at his installation. Alas, during the war this monument was melted, but in 1948 it was made and established again. A story about the dog who is truly waiting for return of the owner won the hearts of Japanese. Hundreds of people came to the Sibuya station that own eyes to see a dog. Hachiko waited for the owner at the station within 9 years. In March, 1935 he died. Among the reasons of his death call cancer at the last stage and infection with warm-hearted worms with filyariya. By this time its history became so known that in Japan declared mourning, and Hachiko after cremation was buried in a place of honor at the cemetery for pets.
