For the first time the breed was noticed in the Middle Ages on open spaces of the British Isles. Medium-sized quick creations kept the company of people at norny hunting for rats, caresses and a game.
Ancestors of a modern look lived in highlands of present Scotland. The Scottish value is treated as "Scottish" in spite of the fact that the place of emergence it is considered to be Great Britain.
Appearance

The breed perfectly suits for residence in the city without need continuous comb-out and bathings. Dimensions of the pet are ideal for not extensive rooms. Wool rather rigid to the touch assumes a constant hairstyle and trimming, excellently preserving against cold air, heat, pollution and humidity. Without physical impact it is almost not exposed to a molt.
For accurate appearance wool is shortened around sides, by backs, on shoulders and under a tail. In a healthy condition of Scotty it is represented hardy and mobile about advanced years.
