Yorkshire terriers, one of the smallest breeds of dog, became extraordinary popular recently. It is explained not only by their compact sizes convenient for accommodation in city apartments, but also gay friendly character and also some "glamor" which such doggie gives it to the owner. The weight of a Yorkshire terrier is less, the more it is appreciated, but the standard of breed does not provide division on weight categories.
Weight of Yorkshire terriersThe weight of a Yorkshire terrier belongs to the main signs of this breed of dog. According to standards of various world film logical associations, it differs, but not much more. So, according to the standards established by MKF, AKC and FCI associations, its maximum value has to be no more than 3100 g, AKK – 3175 g, UK KC – 3200 g, IKU – 3500 g. The dog usually gains this weight in 12-14 months.
But, if with the maximum weight everything is clear, the value of the minimum weight does not establish any standard. Nevertheless in announcements of sale of dogs of this breed it is often possible to meet such definitions as a mini or super mini Yorkshire terrier. It is supposed that the weight of mini Yorkshire terriers is no more than 2000, and super mini Yorkshire terriers – from 900 to 1300 g.
Problems of dogs whose weight is less than the standardThough division into ordinary, mini- and super mini dogs is also not provided by standards, some unfair manufacturers, being in the increased demand for tiny Yorkshire terriers, entered this gradation to increase their cost. Of course, sometimes, that in a usual dung there will be a puppy which sizes and weight are much lower established by the standard. Such dogs are bought up for selection work to bring absolutely small, dwarfish Yorkshire terriers, and it at manufacturers turns out, but what price, they do not speak about it.

And meanwhile such mini-Yorkshire terriers differ in special physical weakness, low immunity, congenital pathologies and susceptibility to any infection. And in general, such dogs live very not for long and often have vomiting and a diarrhea. Dwarfish dogs often die under the surgeon's scalpel, their heart does not keep anesthesia.
Yorkshire terriers of standard weight differ in good health and can live up to 10-15 years.
Of course a tiny Yorkshire terrier and in itself – a being touching, and mini or super mini are similar to live toys at all, but such sizes and small weight of an animal increase danger of his traumatizing. Cases when owners of such kids by negligence smother them are frequent, without having calculated force of embraces. Having unintentionally stepped on such doggie or having just dropped on it something, you can either kill it, or make the cripple.
