At the same time sawdust has one big shortcoming: they stick to paws of an animal who carries them on all room.
3. The crumpled filler is made of clay. Its huge plus in convenience to owners: at contact with liquid, granules connect in a dense lump which is easy for removing by means of a scoop. At the same time liquid clay can stick to the pet's paws therefore a floor will be soiled. The crumpled filler badly holds a smell therefore producers often add fragrances: grass, banana, lavender, etc.
4. Zeolitic filler looks as small stones. It is produced from volcanic mineral which has porous structure. Thanks to such structure of stones, filler perfectly absorbs liquid and holds a smell. Additional plus is the size of granules. Stones do not stick to hair of a cat therefore there is no need to mop floors about a tray.
5. The most expensive type of filler is considered silica gel. Its granules represent transparent silicone balls which have excellent absorbency. The high cost of this filler is compensated by its small expense. Balls can be filled a thick layer and to change time in two-three weeks, at the same time the lack of a smell is guaranteed to you.
6. Choosing filler, owners of cats are guided generally by the preferences and the prices. However it should be taken into account that in the presence of skin diseases or an allergy at the pet it is better to choose wood filler, it is the safest. Filler in the form of stones will suit adult cats, small granules are necessary for kittens. If in the house there live several cats at once, do not stint silica gel filler. It will reduce time for cleaning and will give the chance to several animals at once to use one tray.
