Unlike people of a cat better see at the night. At this animal the side sight is also more largely developed, but fluffy creations concede to people in perception of a color range and clearness of forms.
Night predators
Cats are animals twilight, that is they are more active during evening and morning twilight. It explains the fact that they much better than people see in the dark. In a mesh cover of a cat's eye in 6-8 times more sticks which are sensitive to the muffled light, in comparison with a human organ of vision. Such sight at cats developed thanks to their way of life and need to survive in the wild nature.One more feature of cat's sight consists in ability of a pupil to be narrowed and extend strongly. In the bright world a cat's eye decreases to the size of thin thread, and at weak lighting extends, almost completely covering a cornea. In twilight such expanded pupil of a cat is capable to absorb light better. In addition to it, the elliptic shape of a cat's eye, the increased cornea and the covering layer on a back wall of an eyeball which reflects light back to a retina collect more light. Because of such feature of the structure of an organ of vision at cats in the dark eyes strongly glow. The pocket mirror of a cat's eye can change length of the light wave perceived by a cat, therefore, that the animal more accurate sees production and other objects against the background of the night sky. Photosensitive sticks also allow cats to see better in the dark moving objects.
Sight at people and at cats
The field of vision at cats is wider, than at people. While at the person it makes 180 degrees, at these predators it 200 degrees. The side sight at cats is developed too much better, than at people. It is important to them to notice a mouse or a toy in a room corner. Unlike people, cats not so accurately see objects in the distance. For example, the person with normal sight at a daylight sees the large objects which are at distance of 70 meters clearly. The cat will see these objects indistinct. Her sight allows it to see accurately them at distance to 7 meters. Receptors of perception of color and details, flasks, in a human organ of vision it is more, than at cats. The same concerns perception of the movement at a daylight which at people is developed much better, than at brothers smaller. Cats in a different way perceive colors. Scientists considered earlier that cats – bichromates, that is do not perceive red and green shades. As it became clear later, all of them see some green tone. But the number of flasks, small in comparison with people, does not affect night sight of cats where the main receptors are sticks. And though cats cannot see in a full haze, they need only the sixth part of light necessary for people accurately to distinguish objects. Cats badly see the objects which are at them near by. In this sense they are far-sighted creations. They will smell the food put near a muzzle, but at them some time for that to find it will leave.
