What mosquitoes eat

For maintenance of life the forest mosquitoes eat sacchariferous liquids, juice of plants. To provide development of posterity, females need also blood – human or any warm-blooded animals. This blood partially too is used as food. To get access to blood vessels necessary for it, the female pierces skin with thin bristles which hide in a proboscis, and exhausts blood. At the same time its saliva because of what blood clotting is broken – slightly, of course, only gets to a puncture on skin in order that the komarikha could drink amount of blood necessary to it. But together with this saliva, different unpleasant infections which cause hypostasis and an itch, and sometimes and allergic reaction can be transmitted. At a mosquito male such bristles are very gentle – it is not able to pierce skin with them therefore can eat only flower nectar. But thus only adult individuals eat. As well as other dipterous insects, mosquitoes pass four phases in the development: this egg, larva, doll, imago. For once of a female can lay about three hundred eggs in still water of different reservoirs. Soon from them larvae hatch. They usually swim headfirst at a surface of reservoirs, eating the smallest organisms and different organic particles, there is no transformation into a doll yet. When development of a mosquito in a doll comes to an end, in a cocoon there is a small crack, and the adult individual creeps out of it.
