Constant, and sometimes and uncontrollable reproduction of domestic cats quite often creates a set of problems for their owners. From here and the vagrant cats complicating an epidemiological situation in the different cities. One of the most successful and modern ways of the solution of such problem is sterilization of cats.

1. Sterilization of cats is the special surgery consisting at a distance at them gonads (ovaries) and a uterus. Sterilization is carried out in veterinary clinics under the general anesthesia. In principle, this surgery is simple and practically does not cause in an animal of postoperative complications. As is responsible for a postoperative condition of a cat directly a vetklinik, inoculations and other necessary prevention it has to be made in due time, i.e. prior to operation.
2. Skilled aelurophiles and veterinarians unanimously say that the issue of possible sterilization of a cat has to be resolved in the first days of her birth. The fact is that it is better to make this operation at young age as during this period at cats the best tolerance of the general anesthesia is observed. That is the age from 8 to 9 months will be optimum time for sterilization of the house weasel.
3. In principle, sterilization of cats can be made also during later period of life of an animal, the main thing is not to tighten with it. If the question of sterilization concerns a cat of old age (after 7 years), then it is better to consult at first with the expert who will appoint to an animal several analyses. 4. Most often sterilization happens by opening of a belly wall of an animal by means of section of muscles and skin. At cats during sterilization ovaries and a uterus, and at cats – testicles are removed. You should not be afraid of it as this operation does not injure an animal at all, and the general anesthesia reliably protects it from pain. The activity at an animal during the postoperative period is restored pretty fast, the general condition of a cat at the same time does not suffer. The cat or a cat already practically right after sterilization begin to show independence: they move on the house, well eat and in general become the cleanest.
5. The recovery period at an animal proceeds from 5 to 14 days. At this time the cat especially needs attention from the owner. During the postoperative period the veterinarians recommend to watch a condition of a wound on a stomach and to process the available seams by means of usual brilliant green. It needs to be done regularly, but every other day and before full mending of seams. If from a wound there was blood or pus began to exude, immediately it is necessary to address the veterinarian for survey of an animal.
