Milk is considered a product, valuable to a human body, as contains minerals and the main construction material – protein. Many owners, for strengthening of health of the pets, begin to treat them with milk. However what is useful for the person can do much harm to an animal.

Dairy products contain the lactose which is well acquired by puppies. The intestinal path of adult individuals does not contain special enzyme (lactase) without which process of digestion of milk is impossible. Diarrhea, various gastric frustration can disturb dogs. 

It is extremely undesirable to give milk drinks to the breeds having tendency to food allergic reaction. Their number includes all light dogs (terriers, bulldogs, boxers, setters, etc.), especially small breeds (pug, a lap dog).

 Milk only in case of poisoning with salts of heavy metals is shown to dogs. The proteins which are present at this product promote their removal from an organism.

What milk suits dogs more

The most useful and safe is goat milk. Low content of lactose is characteristic of it therefore it is easier acquired. Besides, the product contains many minerals and vitamins. Therefore if digestive organs of a pet cope with its digestion, it is necessary to give preference to goat milk and dairy drinks made on its basis.

High content of lactose is characteristic of cow's milk. In this regard at a dog the severe diarrhea can begin.

Mare's milk considerably differs from milk of other animals. It contains twice less fats and proteins, and here lactoses in it much more. Therefore veterinarians do not recommend to give to dogs mare's milk. Under a ban and the dairy drink (koumiss) made on its basis as it contains ethyl alcohol.  

It is possible to find delactosed milk in shops. It is the most optimal variant for pets. Dogs drink it with considerable pleasure, without receiving at the same time harm for the health.

To part with milk dry feeds inadmissibly. They contain preservatives and pathogenic flora which intensively breeds in the dairy environment and can lead to poisoning of an animal. Adult dogs should be treated with the milk which is simply diluted with water.

At the same time it is important to monitor reaction of the pet. Emergence of the slightest symptoms of diarrhea or vomiting is the basis for the termination of feeding of a dog milk. Anyway frequent consumption of milk an animal is not welcomed as creates considerable load of a liver.
