To the dogs living in families, their owners treat as people, not only feed and look after them, but also love them with all the heart. But when the animal begins to be ill strongly and this disease causes it intolerable tortures, people have to make the decision – whether it is worth performing euthanasia and to lull a sick dog. In many cases this difficult decision will be more humane, than to doom an animal to pain and flour.
In what cases it is more humane to lull a dog
Lulling to slip of animals in veterinary clinics is made on social and medical indicators. Cases when owners just have no means necessary for treatment of a sick dog concern the first, but such cases meet very seldom – people try to do everything possible that the pet recovered.
Actually, not really there is a lot of medical indicators. Treat them:
- pathological irreversible changes and injuries of a spinal cord (miyelit, neurologic diseases of the 5th degree, a rupture of a spinal cord); - the sharp renal failure caused by lack of adequate treatment;
- the uraemia caused by a chronic renal failure, a hepatic coma; - malignant tumors at the last stage (osteosarcoma, an angiosarkoma, a leukosis, etc.); - heavy cardiological frustration, respiratory insufficiency; - injuries, incompatible with life.
Euthanasia is also allowed for use in cases of emergence of undesirable or impractical posterity (before achievement of age of 10 days by it) and if there was an unreasonable attack on the person with causing to it injuries.
In the listed cases, kind of you did not love an animal and kind of there was no wish to cure it, will be to save more humanely and more reasonably it from tortures. Each owner of a sick dog has to know their symptoms. At these animals the pain syndrome is shown by the bark and a skuleniye, howling and even sounds reminding shouts and groans. Especially patient dogs even at severe pains can behave either too quietly or very heatedly, at the same time they will periodically observe attacks of rapid breathing. The lack of a dream or a short-term and uneasy dream are also symptoms of sharp pains.
As it occurs
In the State Duma already long time is discussed the bill "About Responsible Treatment of Animals". In this bill the application for lulling to slip of animal such painful methods as bleeding, a suffocation inert gas, an embolism and so forth is forbidden. Euthanasia should not cause painful feelings at an animal, sensation of fear, to inflict on it physical suffering.
Lulling to slip is carried out only after the veterinarian does the conclusion about impossibility of treatment of a dog.
If the owner made the decision to lull a dog, the veterinarian can arrive for this purpose to the house once again not to subject an animal to a stress. The procedure is carried out in two steps – at first the dog is immersed in a deep anesthesia at which she falls asleep and ceases to feel something, and then inject it the strong drug stopping warm activity.
