- It is desirable to wash up hair for couple of days before highlighting to save hair from dirt. But you should not wash the head in day when you are going to paint hair as sebaceous glands of the head need a little time to emit the fats protecting hair and skin from harmful effects of chemicals.
- Buy hair-dye, rubber gloves and special acrylic brush from 0.5 to 1 cm wide. The brush will help you to put and distribute correctly paint on locks. Mix paint, following instructions, apply its small amount on lock of hair behind ears to find out whether you have allergic reaction, whether also you receive the correct color as a result. That highlighting looked good, choose shade which is lighter than your tone, natural for about 2-3 colors.
- Before you begin coloring process, be convinced that you have prepared all necessary things. Apply fat cream or vaseline to skin along the line of hair to avoid its coloring. It is the best of all to cover shoulders and neck with old shirt, it will save clothes from paint hit. If you for the first time do coloring independently, protect half of the room where you are going to carry out the procedure from paint. For this purpose it is possible to use cellophane film or old newspapers.
- To separate the painted locks from the bulk of hair, use special foil, it can be bought in specialized shops. Begin to paint locks from nape, other hair can be pinned up that they did not prevent to work.
- Have foil under lock which you want to paint, and you apply paint on hair from roots to tips. Having processed all lock, "pack" it into foil. Process so all necessary locks. That highlighting looked more interesting, apply paint on thin locks of hair, they should not be wider than 0.5 cm. Do not do highlighting too frequent, you will be able always to repeat the procedure if seems to you that you have painted not enough locks.
- You hold paint on hair so much how many it is recommended in the instruction. After that very accurately develop and remove foil, and then wash up hair. Use special balm or the conditioner after coloring, such means has to provide food with hair as any coloring rather strongly dries them. Try not to wash the head within several next days that paint was fixed on hair.
