Depending on quality of the used raw materials, spirits can be shared into the following groups:

- Class C;

In this case for creation of spirits the cheapest raw materials are used. Similar substances often add to aromatic soap, powders and other household chemicals. Such aromas are called still synthetic, and their composition is not subdivided into notes because essential oils in their structure do not differ on volatility degree.

- Class B; Semi-synthetic and synthetic raw materials are applied To production of these spirits. Most often such perfume is made according to the license in China, Turkey, Arab Emirates, Poland, Ukraine, and its quality leaves much to be desired, though the price considerably concedes to the cost of natural spirits. - Class A; Such spirits are made only from high-quality raw materials. About 85-90% make the natural components which are also part of deodorants, soap and shower gel of any given perfume line. Similar spirits differ in magnificent quality, and by price criterion belong to average and above average to price segment. - Luxury Similar perfumery masterpieces of manual assembly are created only from natural ingredients. These are aromas of the highest quality, however not everyone can afford them because of high cost. Sometimes the price of spirits reaches tens of thousands of dollars. Often they are made to order and exist only in single copies.

In the French perfumery committee own classification of spirits is used. According to it, spirits are gesperidny, flower, fern, chypre, wood and amber. Each group is divided into certain number of subgroups.

The German perfumery committee uses a bit different classification – spirits are subdivided into chypre, fern, flower and east. Each group is divided into two subgroups. Some perfumers prefer to subdivide aromas on: - Vegetable. In their structure notes of herbs, herbs, foliage, spices are dominating. - Aldehydic. With the dominating fruit notes. - East. These are exotic and sensual aromas some of which in addition can be dense and sweet. - Animalistic. With the dominating musk note. - Shipra. The fresh aromas complemented with wood notes that gives them special modern sounding.
