In the modern world the fashion for plastic surgeries has gained the nature of mass epidemic. Stars of cinema, policy, music, public people and ordinary citizens are simply obsessed with the idea of eternal youth and appeal. Modern methods of transformation just shake imagination: it is possible to completely change lines and even the structure of the person, to remove undesirable fat, to change form and length of legs. It seems that all these operations are thought up quite recently, but as show numerous researches, history of plastic surgery contains many thousands of years.

Ancient Egypt

 In the 3rd century BC, the Egyptian doctors performed plastic surgeries. It is known also that special attention was paid to rhinoplasty. In order that after trauma the nose has kept former form, inserted special tampons into nostrils, and when overlaying seams greased skin with fat that facilitated sliding of needle.

Also Egyptian doctors have succeeded in operations on elimination of "cleft lip". During archeological excavations, mummies with traces of operations on elimination of this congenital shortcoming have been found.

Ancient Rome

In this powerful state beauty cult prospered. The beautiful body and the person was considered as blessing of gods, and physical defects were equated nearly to crime. The ancient Roman doctor Mark Lutsy left to descendants the most interesting records. He described how performed operation on reduction of breast to one young guy, the son of the famous political figure. Operation has ended with death of the young man.

India

The Indian healer of Sushat Samgit living in the 6th century BC already at that time practiced skin transplantation. It did  it to cover defects on face. It is interesting that material for transplantation was seized from captured enemies and criminals.

Ancient China

In the 5th century BC the Chinese doctor Bian Qu performed successful operations on ears and eyes. At that time in China there was ban on carrying out operations. Was considered that only divine intervention is able to cure the patient. However the Chinese surgeons were one of the most skillful doctors in the ancient world. Despite the ban, they performed operations which seem really unique also today.

In China, operations on transformation of female foot were also massively performed. To girls at the age of 5-6 flyings applied hard bandage to feet. Over time the foot was deformed, and independently girls could not go any more. At that time it was considered as beautiful and unusually sexual. Such foot was called "lotus leg" and was the privilege of aristocrats of that time. By the way, the leg no more than 10 centimeters long was considered as the most beautiful.

Renaissance

In the 16th century the plastic surgeries in Europe were very demanded. It and is unsurprising, at that time on this continent there was huge number of the local conflicts which were followed by multiple mutilations. However the Catholic church categorically was against undertakings of physicians, and  ban on carrying out cosmetic operations has soon been imposed.
