And prosperity of the company in general depends only on work of each individual person. But how to make that all people wanted to work for the benefit of the organization? The organizational psychology and personnel management will help with it.

What does the psychology of work with personnel consist in?

The best proof of competent work of the head is desire of each certain employee to come every day to work and to slave away. It is possible to achieve it by means of work incentives, i.e. formation of motives in professional activity. This process depends on many factors. For example, such as comfortable conditions of a workplace, relation with colleagues, salary and possibility of career and personal development. The psychology of motivation of personnel is responsible for diagnostics of needs for each of these factors. It is possible to check the level of motives of professional activity by means of various questionnaires and test techniques.

The psychology of management allows to see what has to be motivation of personnel. Each employee has requirements. One person works for the sake of the personal growth and career success, another keeps regular life and it accepts monotonous daily work. Everything depends on those requirements which are pursued by each employee.

Interaction between these requirements and motives of behavior was investigated by the famous American psychologist Abraham Maslow. He developed hierarchy of needs of the person which can conditionally be divided into 5 steps:

  1. Physical requirements – in food, food, water, clothes and so forth. They are necessary for survival of the person
  2. Needs for safety, security and confidence in the future. Are implemented in need of the person to keep feeling of protection against the world around by means of good health and stable financial position.
  3. Social requirements – in recognition and participation in any social group or community. Is expressed in the need to be necessary, to feel affection and support.
  4. The need for respect – is shown in desire to be dear person, to hear a praise for the achievements in all spheres of life.
  5. The need for self-expression – desire to self-fulfill, self-improve, realize the internal potential and creative abilities.

All psychology of personnel management of the organization is based on these requirements. How to use these mechanisms of human mentality in motivation of employees? An individual person has to deal with similar issues. He holds a position of the HR manager in many companies. Testing of all employees and the analysis of their requirements belongs to its duties. Then synthesis of these data and development of the concept on realization of models of motivation of all group of workers.

How to increase motivation of workers?

The practical psychology in personnel management has the following approaches of increase in motivation of employees to work: Organizational. Provides interaction of employees on the basis of three components training of personnel, non-material motivation and material encouragement. The main thing in this approach – that behavioural characteristics of employees coincided with the head's views of corporate culture.

  1. Potrebnostno-materialny. Special attention is paid to material stimulation of personnel. However it is worth remembering that such measure is good only in an isolated case. Workers get used to a material reward. Therefore it is worth adhering to the system of a carrot and stick to keep discipline in collective.
  2. Personal focused. Detection of the prevailing type of most of workers provides initial diagnostics. Them there are about seven versions. For example, the employees focused on money, the power, stability, recognition, etc. Depending on the main type and orientation of needs of employees it is important to develop the corresponding approach to their motivation.
  3. Personal and activity. Its basis is formed by such technology of development of potential as coaching. It is directed to diagnostics of style of motivation of the head of the organization and also process of his self-motivation. The more competently and realistichny the head understands a question of motivation of employees, the it will be simpler to pick up to it model of work with personnel and in case of its failure, to replace with another.

In other words, the motivation is the fundamental mechanism in personnel management psychology. Prosperity of all company in general depends on competent approach to this driving force of collective work. The main thing that the head understood it and, introducing a certain model of motivation of the personnel, first of all began with itself.
