1. Unlike the newborn child, in 8 months the kid actively learns the world around, at it social skills begin to be formed. The child learns to interact with surrounding people, to communicate with parents, his feelings and emotions become complicated. Development during this period is extremely individual: all children grow and acquire new knowledge at the speed. Nevertheless there are most widespread lines which are possessed by most of eight-months kids.
2. On the 8th month of life the child does not eat exclusively breast milk any more. Even if mom continues to nurse the kid, at this stage the child also receives "adult" food as a feeding up. It has first milk teeth: usually by 8th month their quantity varies from two to six. The weight of the kid at such age averages 7-8 kg. You should not worry if the child lags behind the conventional indicators of weight and growth a little. In the absence of diseases and malformations the insignificant discrepancy with standard indicators is considered norm option.
3. By the end of the 8th month the child gains new physical skills. His muscles become stronger, and it allows the kid to sit down and hold a body in such situation some time. The child cannot independently stand yet, but already makes attempts to keep standing and to take the first uncertain steps, leaning on a side of a bed or being tightened on hands. The eight-months kid every day becomes more and more strong and hardy. Every day he takes steps at a support more and more surely and by a year begins to stand surely on feet and to go independently.
4. The child without effort holds toys and various objects in hand, showing an initiative in a game. Fine motor skills develop: the kid has an opportunity to play with small objects which were inaccessible earlier.
5. Important achievement of this age is the speech development. The child responds on familiar voices of close people, "babbles" and learns to turn sounds into syllables. The repeated repeatedly simple syllables become the first step to the intelligent speech. If the child in 8 months already began to say syllables "yes", "ма", "oh", it is quite possible that his parents not for long needed to wait for the treasured first word "mom".
