Breastfeeding — the process necessary for maintenance of activity of the kid. But besides the main function it still has important psychological value in establishment of communication of mom with the child. The children who are grown up on breast milk grow quiet healthy and inclined to empathy.
In recent years more often scientists speak about undoubted advantage of breastfeeding. It not only is convenient and economic, but also it is unusually useful for mental and physical health of mom and the kid. Natural feeding is recommended to WHO: pediatricians urge to motivate mothers to nurse up to 2 years, and aged up to 6 months exclusively breast milk is shown to children.
Continuous advantage
Even if to consider breastfeeding only from the physiological point of view, it bears huge advantage for health of mother and the child. It is proved that at women who nurse the cancer of breast, ovaries and a neck of the uterus and also diabetes of the 2nd type develops less often. Besides, the feeding mom much easier and quicker comes back to the "doberemenny" weight.
As for advantage for the kid, it is undoubted! If the child is put to a breast right after the birth, he poduchat the first milk (colostrum), unique on structure, which contains record quantity of antibodies for protection against various diseases. Breast milk contains all substances satisfying unique needs of the baby in the first half a year of life: some irreplaceable polyunsaturated fatty acids, milk proteins and iron in a digestible form.
Besides physiological requirement the feeding by a breast has still the psychological background. It is an effective way to calm and support the child — some kind of island of heat and absolute safety in the unfamiliar world. That is why it is so important to put it to a breast according to the first requirement — in the first months of life the interval between feedings can make 10-30 minutes. In Western Europe and in the majority of states of America the right of the woman to nurse in public places supported with the relevant antidiscrimination laws.
To understand without words
Intuitive communication between mom and the baby who allows to understand needs of the little man without words is called a bonding. And according to researches of scientists, at the nursing mothers the bonding is established more simply and quicker. Really, feeding — much more difficult process, than just consumption of food.
In some public institutions begin to equip special zones for mother and the child. However, now it is possible to feed the baby on a bench in the park or in shopping center without problems. Recently even the Pope urged mothers not to be afraid to nurse children on public including in church. What more babies will receive mother's milk, especially healthy the new generation in every respect will be!
