Teething – long-awaited and quite difficult period in life of the kid and his relatives. New parents have a mass of the questions connected with terms and signs of emergence of milk teeth. This long process can be broken into several stages conditionally.
Instruction
1. Most often the first teeth are cut through in 6-7 months (usually it is the lower central cutters). In 8-9 months children have top central cutters. Then top (9-11 months) and lower (11-13 months) side cutters. Thus, the one-year-old kid usually is a happy owner of 8 teeth.
2. After a year the top and lower so-called first painters (12-15 months), canines (18-20 months) and the second painters are cut through (root) which appear in an interval of 20 and 30 months. However optional teeth grow in full accordance with the specified terms. Also the paired relationship of their emergence is not always observed. The two-month delay is considered quite normal, but you should not leave it without medical attention. As overdue eruption can signal about rickets or other metabolic disorders.
3. Process of emergence of milk teeth in children often is followed by the increased irritability and tearfulness. Often the baby has a desire to bite firm objects. It is possible to offer the kid special silicone teethers which are on sale in pharmacies. Place such teething toy in the fridge for 20-30 minutes and give to the child. Cool material will facilitate an itch in gums and will help to forget about pain. At the same time the toys filled with liquid – not the best option as it is easy to bite through them.
4. If teeth are cut through with plentiful salivation, wipe a child's face with clean cotton or wet towel wipes. It will help to prevent irritations on skin.
5. Sometimes process of emergence of the first teeth is followed by frustration of a chair and temperature increase of a body at the baby. On this case in a house first-aid kit always there have to be checked febrifugal and antidiarrheal means. If the chair and temperature do not return to normal more than two days, surely consult with the pediatrician.
